حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ الْعَيْشِيُّ ثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ أَبِي السَّنَابِلِ بْنِ بَعْكَكٍ قَالَ
وَضَعَتْ سُبَيْعَةُ بِنْتُ الْحَارِثِ بَعْدَ وَفَاةِ زَوْجِهَا بِثَلَاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ أَو سَبْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ لَيْلَةً فَلَمَّا تَعَالَتْ مِنْ نِفَاسِهَا تَشَوَّقَتْ لِلنِّكَاحِ فَأُنْكِرَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهَا فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «إِنْ تَفْعَلْ فَقَدْ حَلَّ أَجَلُهَا»

✧ Subayʿah bt. al-Harith gave birth twenty-three or twenty-seven nights after her husband's death. When she had recovered from her postpartum bleeding she desired marriage, but that was disapproved of for her. It was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: "If she does so, her term has become lawful."
