حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِقَالٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ قَالَ
عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي قَدْ أَسْلَمْتُ وَأَنَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَسْأَلَكَ عَنْ أَشْيَاءَ فَقَالَ «سَلْ عَمَّا بَدَا لَكَ» فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ حَدِّثْنِي عَنْ شَبَهِ الرَّجُلِ أُمَّهُ وَإِنَّمَا النُّطْفَةُ مِنَ الرَّجُلِ فَقَالَ «نُطْفَةُ الرَّجُلِ بَيْضَاءُ غَلِيظَةٌ وَنُطْفَةُ الْمَرْأَةِ حَمْرَاءُ رَقِيقَةٌ فَأَيُّهُمَا غَلَبَ صَاحِبَتَهَا كَانَ الشَّبَهُ لَهُ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا أَكَلَ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ إِذَا دَخَلُوهَا؟ قَالَ «زِيَادَةُ كَبِدِ حُوتٍ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ أَشْرَاطِ السَّاعَةِ قَالَ «نَارٌ تَخْرُجُ مِنَ الْمَشْرِقِ فَتَسُوقُ النَّاسَ إِلَى مَحْشَرِهِمْ» فَقَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ نَبِيٌّ

✧ ʿAbd Allāh b. Salām: O Messenger of God, I have become Muslim, and I would like to ask you about some things. He said: “Ask about whatever occurs to you.” I said: O Messenger of God, tell me about a man's resemblance to his mother, when the fluid is from the man. He said: “The man's fluid is white and thick, and the woman's fluid is red and thin. Whichever of them prevails over the other, the resemblance belongs to it.” I said: O Messenger of God, what will the people of Paradise eat when they enter it? He said: “An extra portion of fish liver.” I said: O Messenger of God, tell me about the signs of the Hour. He said: “A fire that emerges from the east and drives the people to their gathering place.” He said: I bear witness that you are a prophet.
