حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا قَبِيصَةُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ قَالَا ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ عَنْ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ زَهْدَمٍ الْحَنْظَلِيِّ قَالَ

جَاءَ إِنْسَانٌ مِنْ بَنِي ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ يَرْبُوعَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «يَدُ الْمُعْطِي هِي الْعُلْيَا أُمَّكَ وَأَبَاكَ وَأُخْتَكَ وَأَخَاكَ ثُمَّ أَدْنَاكَ أَدْنَاكَ» فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَؤُلَاءِ بَنُو ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ يَرْبُوعَ أَصَابُوا فُلَانًا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَهَتَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تَجْنِي نَفْسٌ عَلَى أُخْرَى»

✧ A man from Banu Tha'labah b. Yarbu' came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was delivering a sermon, and he was saying: "The upper hand is the giving hand. Your mother and your father, your sister and your brother, then your nearest, then your nearest." A man from the Ansar stood up and said, "O Messenger of God, these Banu Tha'labah b. Yarbu' struck so-and-so in the pre-Islamic period." The Messenger of God ﷺ shouted: "No soul shall bear the burden of another."
