حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْخَلَّالُ الْمَكِّيُّ قَالَ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ كَاسِبٍ قَالَ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْهَاشِمِيُّ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَرْدَفَهُ فَقَالَ «يَا فَتَى أَلَا أَهَبُ لَكَ؟ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ يَنْفَعُكَ اللهُ بِهِنَّ؟ احْفَظِ اللهَ يَحْفَظْكَ احْفَظِ اللهَ تَجِدْهُ أَمَامَكَ وَإِذَا سَأَلْتَ فَسَلِ اللهَ وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِاللهِ وَاعْلَمْ أَنْ قَدْ جَفَّ الْقَلَمُ بِمَا هُوَ كَائِنٌ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ الْخَلَائِقَ لَوْ أَرَادُوكَ بِشَىءٍ لَمْ يُكْتَبْ عَلَيْكَ لَمْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَيْكَ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ النَّصْرَ مَعَ الصَّبْرِ وَأَنَّ الْفَرَجَ مَعَ الْكَرْبِ وَأَنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرَا»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ seated him behind him and said: “O young man, shall I not grant you something? Shall I not teach you words by which Allah will benefit you? Safeguard Allah and He will safeguard you; safeguard Allah and you will find Him before you. When you ask, ask Allah, and when you seek help, seek help from Allah. And know that the pen has already dried with what is to be, and know that if the creatures were to intend something for you that was not written upon you, they would not be able to do it. And know that victory is with patience, relief is with distress, and with hardship comes ease.”
