حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو شُعَيْبٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْبَابْلُتِّيُّ ثنا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ نَهِيكٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَطَاءَ بْنَ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ
سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِذَا مَاتَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلَا تَحْبِسُوهُ وَأَسْرِعُوا بِهِ إِلَى قَبْرِهِ وَلْيُقْرَأْ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَعِنْدَ رِجْلَيْهِ بِخَاتِمَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ فِي قَبْرِهِ»

✧ I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: “When any of you dies, do not hold him back, and hasten with him to his grave, and let the opening of the Book (al-Fātiḥah) be recited at his head and the closing of al-Baqarah at his feet in his grave.”
