حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا قُرَّةُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ الْقَنَوِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ السَّمَّاكِ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ ثنا عَطَاءُ بْنُ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ
كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَطَلَبَ بِلَالًا لِيُؤَذِّنَ لَهُمْ فَلَمْ يُوجَدْ فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ رَجُلًا فَأَذَّنَ مَحَلَّ بِلَالٍ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يُقِيمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّمَا يُقِيمُ مَنْ أَذَّنَ»

✧ We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he looked for Bilal to give the call to prayer for them, but he was not found. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered a man, and he gave the call to prayer in place of Bilal. After that, he wanted to give the iqamah, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Only the one who gave the call to prayer gives the iqamah.”
