حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ثنا وَاصِلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْمُلَائِيِّ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا فَتَحَ اللهُ عَلَى عَادٍ مِنَ الرِّيحِ الَّتِي أُهْلِكُوا فِيهَا إِلَّا مِثْلَ مَوْضِعِ الْخَاتَمِ فَمَرَّتْ بِأَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ فَحَمَلَتْ مَوَاشِيَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ فَحَمَلَتْهُمْ بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ فَلَمَّا رَأَوْا ذَلِكَ أَهْلُ الْحَاضِرَةِ مِنَ الرِّيحِ وَمَا فِيهَا قَالُوا هَذَا عَارِضٌ مُمْطِرُنَا فَأَلْقَتْ أَهْلَ الْبَادِيَةِ وَمَوَاشِيَهُمْ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْحَاضِرَةِ

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “God did not open upon ʿAd any of the wind with which they were destroyed except an amount like the place of a ring. It passed by the desert dwellers and carried off their livestock and their wealth, lifting them between the sky and the earth. When the settled people saw the wind and what was in it, they said: ‘This is a cloud bringing us rain.’ Then it cast the desert dwellers and their livestock upon the settled people.”
