حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى بْنِ شَيْبَةَ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْأُمَوِيُّ ثنا أَبِي ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ عَنْ مُعَلًّى هُوَ الْكِنْدِيُّ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ
أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَاشِرَ عَشَرَةٍ فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ مَنْ أَكْيَسُ النَّاسِ؟ وَأَحْزَمُ النَّاسِ؟ قَالَ «أَكْثَرُهُمْ ذِكْرًا لِلْمَوْتِ وَأَشَدُّهُمُ اسْتِعْدَادًا لِلْمَوْتِ قَبْلَ نُزُولِ الْمَوْتِ أُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْأَكْيَاسُ ذَهَبُوا بِشَرَفِ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ»

✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ as the tenth of ten. A man from the Ansar came and said, “O Prophet of Allah, who is the most astute of people and the most resolute of people?” He said, “The one among them who remembers death most, and the one who prepares for death most intensely before death descends. Those are the astute ones; they have gone with the honor of this world and the Hereafter.”
