حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
كَانَتْ تَحْتِي امْرَأَةٌ كُنْتُ أُحِبُّهَا وَكَانَ أَبِي يَكْرَهُهَا فَأَمَرَنِي بِطَلَاقِهَا فَأَبَيْتُ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ عُمَرُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ طَلِّقْهَا»

✧ There was a wife under my care whom I loved, but my father disliked her. He ordered me to divorce her, but I refused. Then ʿUmar mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “O ʿAbd Allah, divorce her.”
