حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا مُعَلَّى بْنُ أَسَدٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ الْمُخْتَارِ أنا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ حَدَّثَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ
عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ الْكَلْبِيِّ مَوْلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَا كُنَّا نَدْعُوهُ إِلَّا زَيْدَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ حَتَّى نَزَلَ الْقُرْآنُ {ادْعُوهُمْ لِآبَائِهِمْ هُوَ أَقْسَطُ عِنْدَ اللهِ}

✧ From Zayd b. Harithah al-Kalbi, the freedman of the Prophet ﷺ, he said: 'We used not to call him anything but Zayd b. Muhammad until the Qur'an came down: "Call them by their fathers; that is more just in the sight of God."'
