حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا أَبُو غَسَّانَ مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ثنا زُهَيْرٌ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا مُعَلَّى بْنُ أَسَدٍ الْعَمِّيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ الْمُخْتَارِ قَالَا ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمٌ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يُحَدِّثُ
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ لَقِيَ زَيْدَ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ بِأَسْفَلِ بَلْدَحَ وَذَلِكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْوَحْيُ فَقَدَّمَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سُفْرَةً فِيهَا لَحْمٌ فَأَبَى أَنْ يَأْكُلَ قَالَ لَا آكُلُ مِمَّا يَذْبَحُونَ عَلَى أَصْنَامِهِمْ أَنَا لَا آكُلُ إِلَّا مِمَّا ذُكِرَ اسْمُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ

✧ From the Messenger of God ﷺ: that he met Zayd b. ʿAmr b. Nufayl at the lower part of Baldah, and that was before revelation descended upon the Messenger of God ﷺ. The Messenger of God ﷺ offered him a leather dining mat with meat on it, but he refused to eat. He said: 'I do not eat from what they slaughter for their idols. I eat only from that over which the name of God has been mentioned.'
