✧ The Prophet ﷺ proposed to a woman of his people called Sawdah. She had children—five or six from a husband of hers who had died—so the Messenger of God ﷺ said to her, “What prevents you from me?” She said, “By God, O Prophet of God, nothing prevents me from you except that you are the most beloved of creation to me, but I honor you too much for these children to clamor at your head morning and evening.” He said, “Does anything other than that prevent you from me?” She said, “No, by God.” So the Messenger of God ﷺ said to her, “May God have mercy on you. The best women who ever rode the backs of camels are the righteous women of Quraysh—the most tender to a child in his infancy and the most protective of a husband in what he possesses.”
