حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثنا زَائِدَةُ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَصَمِّ قَالَ دَعَانَا رَجُلٌ وَأَتَانَا بِثَلَاثَةَ عَشَرَ ضَبًّا فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحْتُ أَتَيْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَأَكْثَرَ جُلَسَاؤُهُ فِي ذَلِكَ الْقَوْلَ حَتَّى قَالَ
بَعْضُهُمْ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا أُحِلُّهُ وَلَا أُحَرِّمُهُ» فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ بِئْسَمَا قُلْتُمْ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّمَا بُعِثَ مُحِلًّا وَمُحَرِّمًا إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ عِنْدَ مَيْمُونَةَ وَمَعَهُ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ وَخَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ وَامْرَأَةٌ وَمَيْمُونَةُ فَأُتِيَ بِخِوَانٍ عَلَيْهِ خُبْزٌ وَلَحْمُ ضَبٍّ فَأَمْسَكَ يَدَهُ وَقَالَ «هَذَا لَحْمٌ لَمْ آكُلْهُ وَلَكِنْ كُلُوا» فَأَكَلَ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ وَالْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ وَالْمَرْأَةُ فَقَالَتْ مَيْمُونَةُ لَا آكُلُ طَعَامًا لَمْ يَأْكُلْ مِنْهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَلَمْ تَأْكُلْ مَيْمُونَةُ

✧ Some of them said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “I do not make it lawful, nor do I make it unlawful.” Ibn Abbas said: “How bad is what you said! The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sent only as one who makes lawful and makes unlawful. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was with Maymunah, and with him were al-Fadl b. al-Abbas, Khalid b. al-Walid, and a woman, and Maymunah. A table was brought with bread and dabb meat on it. He held back his hand and said: ‘This is meat I have not eaten, but eat.’ So Khalid b. al-Walid, al-Fadl b. al-Abbas, and the woman ate. Maymunah said: I will not eat food from which the Prophet ﷺ did not eat. So Maymunah did not eat.”
