حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا سَلَّامُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ قَالَ
قَالَت امْرَأَةُ عُثْمَانَ ؓ حِينَ أَطَافُوا بِهِ يُرِيدُونَ قَتْلَهُ «إِنْ تَقْتُلُوهُ أَوْ تَتْرُكُوهُ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يُحْيِي اللَّيْلَ كُلَّهُ فِي رَكْعَةٍ يَجْمَعُ فِيهَا الْقُرْآنَ»

✧ The wife of Uthman ؓ said when they surrounded him intending to kill him: “If you kill him or spare him, he used to keep the whole night alive in a single rak’ah, gathering the Quran in it.”
