✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ was visited by two angels as a sleeping person sees. One of them sat at his feet and the other at his head. The one at his feet said to the one at his head, "Strike a parable for this man and his community." He said, "The example of this man and his community is like a group of travellers who reached the edge of a desert, but they had no provisions with which to cross the desert or return. While they were in that state, a man came to them wearing a striped robe and said, 'What do you think: if I bring you to lush meadows and full watering places, will you follow me?' They said, 'Yes.' So he set off with them and brought them to lush meadows and full watering places. They ate, drank, and grew fat. Then he said to them, 'Did I not find you in that earlier condition?' They said, 'Yes.' 'But did you not agree that if I brought you to lush meadows and full watering places you would follow me?' They said, 'Yes.' So one group among them said, 'By God, he has spoken truth; we will certainly follow him.' And another group said, 'We have accepted this place; we will stay here.'"
