حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَمَّالُ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا حَمْدَانُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ السُّلَمِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجَذُوعِيُّ الْقَاضِي ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ قَالَا ثنا النَّضْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجُرَشِيُّ ثنا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ثنا أَبُو زُمَيْلٍ ثنا ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
مُطِرَ النَّاسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَصْبَحَ مِنَ النَّاسِ شَاكِرٌ وَمِنْهُمْ كَافِرٌ قَالُوا هَذِهِ رَحْمَةٌ وَضَعَهَا اللهُ وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ لَقَدْ صَدَقَ نَوْءُ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَأُنْزِلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ} حَتَّى {تَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ}

✧ People were rained upon during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Among the people this morning there is one who is grateful and one who is ungrateful. They said: ‘This is a mercy that Allah has sent down,’ while others said: ‘The star of such-and-such has proven true.’ Then this verse was revealed: ‘Nay, I swear by the locations of the stars’ up to ‘You make your provision that you deny.’”
