حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَتَّوَيْهِ قَالَا حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّوَارِبِ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكٍ النُّكْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي الْجَوْزَاءِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
ضَرَبَ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ خِبَاءً عَلَى قَبْرٍ وَلَا يَحْسَبُ أَنَّهُ قَبْرٌ فَإِذَا هُوَ إِنْسَانٌ يَقْرَأُ {تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ} حَتَّى خَتَمَهَا فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ضَرَبْتُ خِبَائِي عَلَى قَبْرٍ وَأَنَا لَا أَحْسَبُ أَنَّهُ قَبْرٌ فَإِذَا إِنْسَانٌ يَقْرَأُ تَبَارَكَ حَتَّى خَتَمَهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «هِيَ الْمَانِعَةُ هِيَ الْمُنْجِيَةُ تُنْجِيهِ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ»

✧ One of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ pitched a tent over a grave, not knowing it was a grave. Then suddenly a person inside was reciting “Blessed is He in whose hand is the dominion” until he completed it. He came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: “O Messenger of Allah, I pitched my tent over a grave, not knowing it was a grave, and suddenly a person was reciting ‘Blessed is He’ until he completed it.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “It is the preventer, it is the deliverer; it delivers him from the punishment of the grave.”
