حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا أَبُو بِلَالٍ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ ثنا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ صَدَقَةَ عَنْ وَائِلِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ عَنِ الْبَهِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ لَمْ يُعْطِ الْكَوْدَنَ شَيْئًا وَأَعْطَاهُ دُونَ سَهْمِ الْعُزَّابِ فِي الْقُوَّةِ وَالْجَوْدَةِ وَالْكَوْدَنُ الْبِرْذَوْنُ الْبَطِيءُ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ did not give the kawdan (a slow packhorse) anything, and he gave it less than the share of the unmarried in strength and quality. The kawdan is a slow, non-Arabian horse.
