حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْخَضِرِ الْخُزَاعِيُّ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ ثنا أَبِي ثنا أَبُو حَمْزَةَ الْسُّكَّرِيُّ عَنْ رَقَبَةَ بْنِ مَصْقَلَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَابِسِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ النَّخَعِيِّ قَالَ
سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ أَدْرَكْتَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ أَدْرَكْتُهُ وَأَنَا غُلَامٌ وَكَانَ بُغْيَتُهُ أَنْ يَحْضُرَ عِيدًا فَخَرَجَ فَأَمَرَ بِعَنَزَةٍ فَرُكِزَتْ لَهُ عِنْدَ دَارِ كَثِيرِ بْنِ الصَّلْتِ فَصَلَّى إِلَيْهَا ثُمَّ ذَكَّرَ النَّاسَ فَوَعَظَهُمْ ثُمَّ ارْتَفَعَ إِلَى النِّسَاءِ لَيْسَ مَعَهُ ذَكَرٌ غَيْرُ بِلَالٍ فَذَكَّرَهُنَّ وَوَعَظَهُنَّ بِآيٍ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ وَحَثَّهُنَّ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ فَرَأَيْتُهُنَّ يَهْوِينَ إِلَى آذَانِهِنِّ وَحُلُوقِهِنِّ لِيَدْفَعْنَ الصَّدَقَةَ إِلَى بِلَالٍ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ»

✧ A man asked Ibn 'Abbas: "Did you meet the Prophet ﷺ?" He said: "Yes, I met him while I was a boy. His purpose was to attend an Eid, so he went out and ordered a spear to be brought and it was planted for him near the house of Kathir b. al-Salt. He prayed facing it. Then he reminded the people and admonished them. Then he went up to the women, with no male with him except Bilal. He reminded them and admonished them with verses of the Qur'an and urged them to give charity. I saw them leaning toward their ears and throats to hand charity to Bilal. Then he returned to his family."
