حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ عَنِ الْأَغَرِّ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ عَنْ خَلِيفَةَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ عَنْ أَبِي نَصْرٍ قَالَ
سُئِلَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْتَحِنُ النِّسَاءَ؟ قَالَ «كَانَ إِذَا أَتَتْهُ الْمَرْأَةُ لِتُسْلِمَ حَلَّفَهَا بِاللهِ مَا خَرَجَتْ لِبُغْضِ زَوْجٍ وَبِاللهِ مَا خَرَجَتْ لِاكْتِسَابِ دِينَارٍ وَبِاللهِ مَا خَرَجَتْ رَغْبَةً عَنْ أَرْضٍ إِلَى أَرْضٍ وَبِاللهِ مَا خَرَجَتْ إِلَّا حُبًّا لِلَّهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ»

✧ Ibn Abbas was asked: “How did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ test women?” He said: “When a woman came to him to accept Islam, he made her swear by Allah that she had not left out of hatred for a husband, and by Allah that she had not left to acquire a dinar, and by Allah that she had not left out of desire for one land over another, and by Allah that she had left only out of love for Allah and His Messenger.”
