حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَائِلَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَمْرَ الْبَجَلِيُّ أنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سِنَانٍ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ مُزَاحِمٍ
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِ اللهِ ﷻ {وَإِذْ أَسَرَّ النَّبِيُّ إِلَى بَعْضِ أَزْوَاجِهِ حَدِيثًا} قَالَ دَخَلَتْ حَفْصَةُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي بَيْتِهَا وَهُوَ يَطَأُ مَارِيَةَ فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تُخْبِرِي عَائِشَةَ حَتَّى أُبَشِّرَكِ بِبِشَارَةٍ فَإِنَّ أَبَاكِ يَلِي مِنْ بَعْدِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ إِذَا أَنَا مِتُّ» فَذَهَبَتْ حَفْصَةُ فَأَخْبَرَتْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا رَأَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَطَأُ مَارِيَةَ وَأَخْبَرَتْهَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَخْبَرَهَا أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ يَلِي بَعْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَيَلِي عُمَرُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ مَنْ أَنْبَأَكَ هَذَا؟ قَالَ «نَبَّأَنِيَ الْعَلِيمُ الْخَبِيرُ» فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ لَا أَنْظُرُ إِلَيْكَ حَتَّى تُحَرِّمَ مَارِيَةَ فَحَرَّمَهَا فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ لِمَ تُحَرِّمُ}

✧ From Ibn Abbas regarding the saying of Allah, glorified be He: {And when the Prophet confided a matter to one of his wives}: He said: Hafsah entered upon the Prophet ﷺ in her house while he was having intercourse with Mariyah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her: 'Do not tell Aishah until I give you glad tidings: your father will take charge after Abu Bakr when I die.' Hafsah went and told Aishah that she saw the Prophet ﷺ having intercourse with Mariyah, and she told her that the Prophet ﷺ informed her that Abu Bakr would take charge after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and Umar after him. Aishah said to the Prophet ﷺ: 'Who told you this?' He said: 'The All-Knowing, the All-Aware told me.' Aishah said: 'I will not look at you until you make Mariyah forbidden to yourself.' So he made her forbidden, and Allah, glorified be He, sent down: {O Prophet, why do you forbid}.
