حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ أَبُو الْعَلَاءِ الْخَفَّافُ عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ
سَأَلَ سَائِلٌ وَابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ لَهُ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يَا سَائِلُ قَالَ لَبَّيْكَ قَالَ تَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ وتُصَلِّي الْخَمْسَ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ وَتَصُومُ رَمَضَانَ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ حَقٌّ عَلَيْنَا أَنْ نَصِلَكَ فَنَزَعَ ثَوْبًا عَلَيْهِ فَكَسَاهُ إِيَّاهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَيُّمَا مُسْلِمٍ كَسَا مُسْلِمًا ثَوْبًا كَانَ فِي حِفْظِ اللهِ مَا بَقِيَتْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْهُ رُقْعَةٌ»

✧ A questioner asked while Ibn ʿAbbas was praying, and Ibn ʿAbbas said to him: O questioner. He said: At your service. He said: Do you testify that there is no god but Allah? He said: Yes. He said: And do you pray the five prayers? He said: Yes. He said: And do you fast Ramadan? He said: Yes. He said: It is incumbent upon us to help you. So he took off a garment he was wearing and clothed him with it. Then he said: At that, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Any Muslim who clothes a Muslim with a garment remains in Allah's protection as long as a patch of it remains on him."
