حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبِةَ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَعْبَدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَخْلُوَنَّ رَجُلٌ مَعَ امْرَأَةٍ إِلَّا وَمَعَهَا ذُو مَحْرَمٍ وَلَا تُسَافِرُ إِلَّا مَعَ امْرَأَةٍ وَلَا يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْهَا رَجُلٌ إِلَّا مَعَ مَحْرَمٍ» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ امْرَأَتِي خَرَجَتْ حَاجَّةً وَإِنِّي اكْتُتِبْتُ فِي غَزْوَةِ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ «فانْقَلِبْ فَحُجَّ مَعَ امْرَأَتِكَ»

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, “A man should never be alone with a woman unless she has a mahram with her, and she should not travel except with a mahram, and no man should enter upon her except with a mahram.” A man said, “O Messenger of Allah, my wife has set out for Hajj, and I have been enlisted in such-and-such an expedition.” He said, “Then turn back and perform Hajj with your wife.”
