حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الضَّبِّيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ النَّشيطيُّ ثنا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «دِيَةُ الْمُكَاتَبِ قَدْرَ مَا عَتَقَ مِنْهُ دِيَةُ الْحُرِّ وَمَا رَقَّ مِنْهُ دِيَةُ الْمَمْلُوكِ»

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: “The blood money of a mukatab (a slave who has contracted to purchase his freedom) is according to the extent of his freedom: the blood money of a free man for the portion that he has paid toward his freedom, and the blood money of a slave for the portion that remains in slavery.”
