حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ شَاهِينٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّمَّارُ قَالَا ثنا عِيسَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْبِرَكِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ لَمَّا قَذَفَ هِلَالُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ امْرَأَتَهُ بِشَرِيكِ بْنِ السَّحْمَاءِ قَالَ
لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَتَأْتِيَنَّ عَلَى مَا تَقُولُ بِبَيِّنَةٍ أَوْ لَتُجْلَدَنَّ الْحَدَّ» قَالَ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ إِنِّي لَصَادِقٌ وَلَيُنْزِلَنَّ اللهُ عُذْرِي فَنَزَلَتْ آيَةُ الْمُلَاعَنَةِ فَدَعَاهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَتَلَاعَنَا فَلَمَّا بَقِيَتِ الْخَامِسَةُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّهَا مُوجِبَةٌ فَإِنِّي أَرَدْتُ أَنْ تُرْحَمَ» ثُمَّ قَالَتْ وَاللهِ لَا فَضَحْتُ قَوْمِي فَمَضَتْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَبْصِرُوهَا فَإِنْ جَاءَتْ بِهِ أَبْيَضَ سَبِطًا قَصَّ الْعَيْنَيْنِ فلِهلالِ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ وَإِنْ جَاءَتْ بِهِ آدَمَ جَعْدًا أَكْحَلَ الْعَيْنَيْنِ فلِشَريكِ بْنِ السَّحْمَاءِ» فَجَاءَتْ بِهِ لِشَرِيكٍ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "You will surely bring clear proof for what you say, or you will be flogged with the prescribed punishment." He said, "By the One who sent you with the truth, I am truthful, and Allah will surely send down my excuse." Then the verse of mutual cursing was revealed, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called him, and they performed mutual cursing. When the fifth [oath] remained, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is binding, and I wished that you be shown mercy." Then she said, "By Allah, I will not disgrace my people," and she proceeded. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Observe her. If she gives birth to a white child with lank hair and short eyes, then it is for Hilal b. Umayyah; and if she gives birth to a dark-skinned child with curly hair and kohl-lined eyes, then it is for Sharīk b. al-Sahmāʾ." Then she gave birth to one for Sharīk.
