حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا رَفَعَ الْحَدِيثَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَأْمُرُ بِقَتْلِ الْحَيَّاتِ

وَقَالَ «مَنْ تَرَكَهُنَّ خَشْيَةَ أَوْ مَخَافَةَ ثأرٍ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا» قَالَ وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ «إِنَّ الْحَيَّاتِ مَسِيخُ الْجِنِّ كَمَا مُسِخَتِ الْقِرَدَةُ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ»

✧ He said: “Whoever leaves them out of fear or dread of vengeance is not of us.” He said: And Ibn ‘Abbas said: “Snakes are the transformed jinn, just as apes were transformed from the Children of Israel.”
