حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى زَحْمَوَيْهِ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ قَالَا ثنا شَرِيكٌ وَقَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
أُتِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِجُبْنَةٍ فِي غَزْوَةِ الطَّائِفِ فَجَعَلَ أَصْحَابُهُ يَضْرِبُونَهَا بِعِصِيِّهِمْ وَيَقُولُونَ نَخْشَى أَنْ يَكُونَ فِيهَا مَيْتَةٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «ضَعُوا فِيهَا السِّكِّينَ وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللهِ عَلَيْهَا»

✧ A cheese was brought to the Prophet ﷺ during the expedition of al-Ta'if, and his companions began striking it with their sticks and saying, "We fear that it may contain carrion." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Put the knife into it and mention the name of Allah over it."
