حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ قَالَ بَارَزَ الْبَرَاءُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ أَخُو أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ مَرْزُبَانَ الزَّارَةَ فَقَتَلَهُ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ سَلَبَهُ فَبَلَغَ سَلَبُهُ ثَلَاثِينَ أَلْفًا فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ فَقَالَ

لِأَبِي طَلْحَةَ «إِنَّا كُنَّا لَا نُخَمِّسُ السَّلَبَ وَإِنَّ سَلَبَ الْبَرَاءِ قَدْ بَلَغَ مَالًا كَثِيرًا فَمَا أُرَانَا إِلَّا خَامِسِيهِ»

✧ To Abu Talha: "We used not to give a fifth of the spoils, but the spoils of al-Bara' have reached a great amount of wealth, so I think we should give a fifth of it."
