حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ رَاهَوَيْهِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي أُسَامَةَ أَحَدَّثَكُمْ زَائِدَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ مِنَ الشِّعْرِ حِكَمًا وَإِنَّ مِنَ الْبَيَانِ سِحْرًا» وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَمَثَّلُ مِنَ الْأَشْعَارِ

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: “Indeed, part of poetry is wisdom, and indeed, part of eloquence is sorcery.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to quote verses of poetry.
