حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْمُؤَدِّبُ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْحُلْوَانِيُّ قَالَا ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ اشْتَرَى عِيرًا قَدِمَتْ فِيهَا أَوَاقٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَتَصَدَّقَ بِهَا عَلَى أَرَامِلِ بَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ وَقَالَ «لَا أشْتُرِي شَيْئًا لَيْسَ عِنْدِي ثَمَنُهُ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ bought a caravan that had arrived containing some awqiyah of gold, and he gave it as charity to the widows of Banu ʿAbd al-Muttalib. He said, “I will not buy something for which I do not have its price.”
