حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْعَطَّارُ ثنا أَبُو كَامِلٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ وَكَعْبًا رَكِبَا سَفِينَةً فِي الْبَحْرِ فَقَالَ

مُحَمَّدٌ يَا كَعْبُ أَمَا تَجِدُ سَفِينَتَنَا هَذِهِ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ كَيْفَ تَجْرِي؟ فَقَالَ «لَا وَلَكِنْ أَجِدُ فِيهَا رَجُلًا أَشْقَى الْفِتْيَةَ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ يَنْزُو فِي الْفِتْنَةِ كَمَا يَنْزُو الْحِمَارُ لَا تَكُنْ أَنْتَ هُوَ» قَالَ ابْنُ سِيرِينَ فَزَعَمُوا أَنَّهُ كَانَ هُوَ

Translation

✧ Muhammad said: O Kab, do you not find this ship of ours in the Torah, how it sails? He said: "No, but I find in it a man, the most wretched of the young men of Quraysh, who leaps into the turmoil as a donkey leaps. Do not be that one." Ibn Sirin said: They claimed that it was indeed him.
