حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ قَالَ
حَضَرْنَا مَعَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ جَنَازَةَ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِذَا رَفَعْتُمْ نَعْشَهَا فَلَا تُزَعْزِعُوا وَلَا تُزَلْزِلُوا وَارْفُقُوا فَإِنَّهُ «كَانَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ تِسْعٌ فَكَانَ يَقْسِمُ لِثَمَانٍ وَلَا يَقْسِمُ لِوَاحِدَةٍ» قَالَ عَطَاءٌ فَكَانَتِ الَّتِي لَمْ يَقْسِمْ لَهَا صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتَ حُيَيٍّ
Translation

✧ We attended with Ibn ʿAbbas the funeral of Maymunah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ. He said: When you lift her bier, do not jolt or shake it, and be gentle, for “the Messenger of God ﷺ had nine wives; he used to apportion for eight and not apportion for one.” ʿAtaʾ said: The one for whom he did not apportion was Safiyyah bt. Huyayy.
