حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمَعْمَرِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْهَرَوِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أنا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
لَمَّا زَوَّجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلِيًّا مِنْ فَاطِمَةَ قَالَتْ زَوَّجْتَنِي مِنْ عائلٍ لَا مَالَ لَهُ فَقَالَ لَهَا «أَمَا تَرْضَيْنَ أَنْ يَكُونَ اللهُ اطَّلَعَ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ فَاخْتَارَ مِنْهَا رَجُلَيْنِ جَعَلَ أَحَدَهُمَا أَبَاكِ وَالْآخَرَ زَوْجَكِ»

✧ When the Prophet ﷺ married Ali to Fatimah, she said, “You have married me to a poor man who has no wealth.” He said to her, “Are you not pleased that Allah looked upon the earth and chose from it two men, making one of them your father and the other your husband?”
