حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو غَسَّانَ مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ثنا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ عَنْ أَبِي رَجَاءٍ عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ
أَنَّهُ كَانَ قَاعِدًا بِدِمَشْقَ فِي يَوْمٍ بَارِدٍ يَتَوَضَّأُ فَمَرَّ بِهِ بِلَالٌ مُؤَذِّنُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا بِلَالُ كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ؟ قَالَ «يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَالْخِمَارِ»

✧ He was sitting in Damascus on a cold day performing ablution when Bilal, the mu'adhdhin of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, passed by him. He said: 'O Bilal, how did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform ablution?' He said: 'He would wipe over the leather socks and the turban.'
