حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
«كَانَ الْفَضْلُ أَكْبَرَ مِنِّي وَكَانَ يُرْدِفُنِي فَأَكُونُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فارْتَدَفْتُ أَنَا وَأَخِي حِمَارَةً فَانْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ بِعَرَفَةَ فَنَزَلْنَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَدَخَلْنَا فَصَلَّيْنَا وَتَرَكْنَاهَا تَرْعَى بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَلَمْ يَقْطَعْ صَلَاتَهُ»

✧ Al-Fadl was older than me, and he used to let me ride behind him, so I would be in front of him. Once my brother and I rode behind on a female donkey and reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was praying with the people at Arafah. We dismounted in front of him and joined the prayer, leaving her to graze in front of him, and he did not interrupt his prayer.
