✧ The Prophet ﷺ said, “Were it not that the Rukn has been imprinted with the impurities of the Jahiliyya and its filths, and the hands of wrongdoers and sinners, it would be used to seek healing for every ailment, and it would remain today as it was on the day God created it. God only changed it to blackness so that the people of this world would not look upon the adornment of Paradise and that it will return to it. Indeed it is a sapphire from the sapphires of Paradise, which God placed when He sent down Adam at the site of the Kaʿba, before the Kaʿba existed. The earth then was pure, and no acts of disobedience had been done on it, and it had no inhabitants to defile it. A row of angels was placed for it on the boundaries of the sanctuary, guarding it from the inhabitants of the earth—its inhabitants then being the jinn, for whom it was not appropriate to look at it because it is something from Paradise. The angels were keeping them away from it, standing on the boundaries of the sanctuary, surrounding it on every side. For that reason it was called the sanctuary, because they form a barrier between them and it.”
