حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ثنا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ بِلَالٍ قَالَ
كَانَ عِنْدِي تَمْرٌ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَوَجَدْتُ مَا هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْهُ صَاعًا بِصَاعَيْنِ فَاشْتَرَيْتُهُ وَأَتَيْتُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَا هَذَا؟» فَقُلْتُ أَخَذْتُ صَاعًا بِصَاعَيْنِ فَقَالَ «رُدَّ عَلَيْنَا تَمْرَنَا»

✧ I had some dates belonging to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I found better dates than them, a sa‘ for two sa‘s, so I bought them and brought them to the Prophet ﷺ. He said, “What is this?” I said, “I took a sa‘ for two sa‘s.” He said, “Return our dates to us.”
