✧ The delegation of ʿAbd al-Qays came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: "O Messenger of Allah, we are a tribe of Rabiʿa, and between us and you are the disbelievers of Mudar. We cannot reach you except in a sacred month. So command us with a matter which, if we act upon it, we will enter Paradise, and we will call those behind us to it." He commanded them with four things and forbade them from four things. He commanded them to worship Allah and not associate anything with Him, to establish the prayer, to give the zakat, to perform Hajj to the House, and to give the khums from the spoils of war. He forbade them from four things: drinking from hantam jars, dubba' gourds, naqir vessels, and muzaffat vessels. They said: "O Messenger of Allah, from what should we drink?" He said: "Use these water-skins whose mouths are tied."
