حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَأَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ قَالَا ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خَيْثَمٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
كُنْتُ فِي بَيْتِ مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ فَوَضَعْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَضُوءًا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَنْ وَضَعَ هَذَا؟» فَقَالَتْ مَيْمُونَةُ وَضَعَهُ عَبْدُ اللهِ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ عَلِّمْهُ التَّأْوِيلَ وَفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ»

✧ I was in the house of Maymūna bt. al-Ḥārith, and I placed ablution water for the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Who placed this?” Maymūna said, “ʿAbd Allāh placed it.” He said, “O God, teach him interpretation and give him understanding in religion.”
