حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ مَعْنٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ قَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ كَانَ رَجُلٌ يَعْمَلُ بِالْمَعَاصِي حَتَّى جَمَعَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ مَالًا فَلَمَّا حَضَرَهُ الْمَوْتُ قَالَ
لِأَهْلِهِ إِنِ اتَّبَعْتُمْ مَا آمُرُكُمْ بِهِ دَفَعْتُ إِلَيْكُمْ مَالِي وَإِلَّا لَمْ أَفْعَلْ قَالُوا فَإِنَّا سَنَتَّبِعُ مَا أَمَرْتَنَا بِهِ قَالَ إِذَا أَنَا مُتُّ فَحَرِّقُونِي بِالنَّارِ ثُمَّ دُقُّوا عِظَامِي دَقًّا شَدِيدًا فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ يَوْمَ رِيحٍ شَدِيدٍ فَاصْعَدُوا إِلَى قُلَّةِ جَبَلٍ فَأَذْرُونِي فِي الرِّيحِ قَالَ فَفَعَلُوهَا قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَوَقَعَ فِي يَدِ اللهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ مَا حَمَلَكَ عَلَى الَّذِي صَنَعْتَ؟ قَالَ مَخَافَتُكَ قَالَ قَدْ غَفَرْتُ لَكَ

✧ He said to his family: If you follow what I command you, I will hand over my wealth to you; otherwise I will not. They said: We will follow what you command us. He said: When I die, burn me with fire, then crush my bones thoroughly, and when you see a day of strong wind, climb to the top of a mountain and scatter me in the wind. He said: They did it. 'Abdullah said: The Messenger of God ﷺ said: He fell into God's hand, and He said to him: “What carried you to do what you did?” He said: “Fear of You.” He said: “I have forgiven you.”
