حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ثنا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ السَّلَامَ اسْمٌ مِنْ أَسْمَاءِ اللهِ وَضَعَهُ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَأَفْشُوهُ فِيكُمْ؛ فَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ عَلَى الْقَوْمِ فَرَدُّوا عَلَيْهِ كَانَ لَهُ عَلَيْهِمْ فَضْلُ دَرَجَةٍ؛ لِأَنَّهُ ذَكَّرَهُمْ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَرُدُّوا عَلَيْهِ رَدَّ عَلَيْهِ مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْهُمْ وَأَطْيَبُ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Indeed, al-Salam (peace) is one of the names of Allah which He placed on earth, so spread it among yourselves. When a man greets a group and they respond, he has a degree of superiority over them because he reminded them. If they do not respond, then one better and purer than them responds to him.'
