✧ The two sons of Mulaykah came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, “O Messenger of God, our mother used to honor the husband, show affection to the child,” and he mentioned the guest, “except that she buried a daughter alive in the Jahiliyyah.” He said, “Your mother is in the Fire.” They turned away, and evil could be seen in their faces. He ordered that they be brought back, and joy could be seen in their faces hoping that something had happened. He said, “My mother is with your mother.” A man from the hypocrites said, “What does this avail his mother while we tread on his heels?” A man from the Ansar—and I have never seen a man who asked more questions than him—said, “O Messenger of God, has your Lord promised concerning her or both of them?” He said, “Do you think it is from something?” He said, “I have not asked my Lord, and indeed I will stand at the Praised Station on the Day of Resurrection.” The Ansari said, “And what is that Praised Station?” He said, “That is when you are brought barefoot and naked, and the first to be clothed will be Ibrahim ﷺ, who will say, ‘Clothe my friend.’ Then two white garments will be brought, and he will put them on, then sit facing the Throne. Then my clothing will be brought, and I will put it on, and I will stand at his right in a station that no one other than me will stand; the first and the last will envy me for it. And my river Kawthar will be opened to the Pool.” A man from the hypocrites said, “For it, no water ever flowed over pebbles or pebbles but it had a quality or pebbles.” He said, “O Messenger of God, what quality and pebbles?” He said, “Its quality is musk and its pebbles are pearls.” The hypocrite said, “I have never heard like today: water that flows over quality or pebbles but it has vegetation.” The Ansari said, “O Messenger of God, does it have vegetation?” He said, “Yes, rods of gold.” The hypocrite said, “I have never heard like today; for no rod grows but it leaves and has fruit.” The Ansari said, “Does it have fruit?” He said, “Yes, colors of jewels, and its water is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. Whoever drinks a drink from it will never thirst again, and whoever is deprived of it will never be quenched after it.” This hadith was also narrated by al-Saʿiq b. Hazn from ʿAli b. al-Hakam, and he differed from Saʿid b. Zayd in its chain.
