حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْقَرْمِطِيُّ مِنْ وَلَدِ عَامِرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ بِبَغْدَادَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ نَضْلَةَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نَضْلَةَ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ، حَدَّثَتْنِي مَيْمُونَةُ بِنْتُ الْحَارِثِ زَوْجُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بَاتَ عِنْدَهَا لَيْلَتَهَا، فَقَامَ يَتَوَضَّأُ لِلصَّلَاةِ، فَسَمِعَتْهُ يَقُولُ فِي مُتَوَضَّئِهِ: لَبَّيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ ! ثَلَاثًا. نُصِرْتَ نُصِرْتَ ! ثَلَاثًا ". فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، سَمِعْتُكَ تَقُولُ فِي مُتَوَضَّئِكَ: " لَبَّيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ -ثَلَاثًا، نُصِرْتَ نُصِرْتَ، ثَلَاثًا ". كَأَنَّكَ تُكَلِّمُ إِنْسَانًا، فَهَلْ كَانَ مَعَكَ أَحَدٌ ؟ فَقَالَ: " هَذَا رَاجِزُ بَنِي كَعْبٍ يَسْتَصْرِخُنِي، وَيَزْعُمُ أَنَّ قُرَيْشًا أَعَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ بَنِي بَكْرٍ ". ثُمَّ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، فَأَمَرَ عَائِشَةَ أَنْ تُجَهِّزَهُ، وَلَا تُعْلِمْ أَحَدًا. قَالَتْ: فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، فَقَالَ: يَا بُنَيَّةُ، مَا هَذَا الْجِهَازُ ؟ فَقَالَتْ: وَاللهِ مَا أَدْرِي ! فَقَالَ: وَاللهِ مَا هَذَا زَمَانُ غَزْوِ بَنِي الْأَصْفَرِ، فَأَيْنَ يُرِيدُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ؟ قَالَتْ: وَاللهِ لَا عِلْمَ لِي، قَالَتْ: فَأَقَمْنَا ثَلَاثًا، ثُمَّ صَلَّى الصُّبْحَ بِالنَّاسِ، فَسَمِعْتُ الرَّاجِزَ يُنْشِدُهُ: يَا رَبِّ إِنِّي نَاشِدٌ مُحَمَّدًا حِلْفَ أَبِينَا وَأَبِيهِ الْأَتْلَدَا إِنَّا وَلَدْنَاكَ وَكُنْتَ وَلَدًا ثَمَّةَ أَسْلَمْنَا وَلَمْ نَنْزِعْ يَدًا إِنَّ قُرَيْشًا أَخْلَفُوكَ الْمَوْعِدَا وَنَقَضُوا مِيثَاقَكَ الْمُؤَكَّدَا وَزَعَمُوا أَنْ لَسْتَ تَدْعُو أَحَدًا فَانْصُرْ هَدَاكَ اللهُ نَصْرًا أَيِّدَا وَادْعُ عِبَادَ اللهِ يَأْتُوا مَدَدًا فِيهِمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ قَدْ تَجَرَّدَا إِنْ سِيمَ خَسْفًا وَجْهُهُ تَرَبَّدَا. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " لَبَّيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ ! ثَلَاثًا، نُصِرْتَ نُصِرْتَ، ثَلَاثًا ". ثُمَّ خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ بِالرَّوْحَاءِ نَظَرَ إِلَى سَحَابٍ مُنْتَصِبٍ، فَقَالَ: " إِنَّ السَّحَابَ هَذَا لَيَنْتَصِبُ بِنَصْرِ بَنِي كَعْبٍ ". فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَمْرٍو أَخُو بَنِي كَعْبِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَنَصْرُ بَنِي عَدِيٍّ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " تَرِبَ نَحْرُكَ، وَهَلْ عَدِيٌّ إِلَّا كَعْبٌ، وَكَعْبٌ إِلَّا عَدِيٌّ " ! فَاسْتُشْهِدَ ذَلِكَ الرَّجُلُ فِي ذَلِكَ السَّفَرِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " اللَّهُمَّ، أَعْمِ عَلَيْهِمْ خَبَرَنَا حَتَّى نَأْخُذَهُمْ بَغْتَةً ". ثُمَّ خَرَجَ حَتَّى نَزَلَ بِمَرٍّ. وَكَانَ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَحَكِيمُ بْنُ حِزَامٍ وَبُدَيْلُ بْنُ وَرْقَاءَ خَرَجُوا تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةَ حَتَّى أَشْرَفُوا عَلَى مَرٍّ، فَنَظَرَ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ إِلَى النِّيرَانِ، فَقَالَ: يَا بُدَيْلُ، هَذِهِ نَارُ بَنِي كَعْبٍ أَهْلِكَ ! فَقَالَ: جَاشَتْهَا إِلَيْكَ الْحَرْبُ ! فَأَخَذَتْهُمْ مُزَيْنَةُ تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةَ، وَكَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الْحِرَاسَةُ، فَسَأَلُوا أَنْ يَذْهَبُوا بِهِمْ إِلَى الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، فَذَهَبُوا بِهِمْ، فَسَأَلَهُ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ أَنْ يَسْتَأْمِنَ لَهُمْ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ. فَخَرَجَ بِهِمْ حَتَّى دَخَلَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَسَأَلَهُ أَنْ يُؤَمِّنَ لَهُ مَنْ آمَنَ، فَقَالَ: " قَدْ آمَنْتُ مَنْ آمَنْتَ مَا خَلَا أَبَا سُفْيَانَ " ! فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، لَا تَحْجُرْ عَلَيَّ ! فَقَالَ: " مَنْ آمَنْتَ فَهُوَ آمِنٌ " ! فَذَهَبَ بِهِمُ الْعَبَّاسُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ. ثُمَّ خَرَجَ بِهِمْ، فَقَالَ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ: إِنَّا نُرِيدُ أَنْ نَذْهَبَ، فَقَالَ: " أَسْفِرُوا ". وَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ، وَابْتَدَرَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ وَضُوءَهُ يَنْتَضِحُونَهُ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ، فَقَالَ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ: يَا أَبَا الْفَضْلِ، لَقَدْ أَصْبَحَ مُلْكُ ابْنِ أَخِيكَ عَظِيمًا ! فَقَالَ: لَيْسَ بِمُلْكٍ، وَلَكِنَّهَا النُّبُوَّةُ، وَفِي ذَلِكَ يَرْغَبُونَ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spent the night with her on her night. He got up to perform ablution for prayer, and she heard him saying during his ablution: 'Labbayk, Labbayk!' three times, and 'Nusirta, nusirta!' three times. When he came out, I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I heard you saying during your ablution: "Labbayk, Labbayk" three times, and "Nusirta, nusirta" three times, as if you were speaking to a person. Was there anyone with you?' He said: 'This is the poet of Banu Ka'b calling for my aid, claiming that Quraysh helped Banu Bakr against them.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out and ordered 'A'ishah to prepare his provisions, and not to inform anyone. She said: Abu Bakr entered upon her and said: 'O my daughter, what is this preparation?' She said: 'By Allah, I do not know.' He said: 'By Allah, this is not the time to raid Banu al-Asfar, so where does the Messenger of Allah ﷺ intend to go?' She said: 'By Allah, I have no knowledge.' She said: We stayed for three days, then he prayed the morning prayer with the people, and I heard the poet reciting: 'O Lord, I invoke Muhammad, the covenant of our father and his father, the ancient. We gave birth to you, and you were a son. Then we submitted and did not withdraw a hand. Indeed Quraysh broke their promise to you and violated your confirmed covenant. They claimed that you do not call anyone. So grant victory, may Allah guide you, a mighty victory. And call the servants of Allah, they will come as reinforcement. Among them the Messenger of Allah has come forth. If he is threatened with humiliation, his face darkens.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Labbayk, Labbayk!' three times, and 'Nusirta, nusirta' three times. Then the Prophet ﷺ went out. When he was at al-Rawha', he looked at a towering cloud and said: 'This cloud itself towers with the victory of Banu Ka'b.' A man from 'Adiyy b. 'Amr, the brother of Banu Ka'b b. 'Amr, stood up and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, and the victory of Banu 'Adiyy?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'May your chest be in the dust! Is 'Adiyy anything but Ka'b, and Ka'b anything but 'Adiyy?' That man was martyred on that journey. Then the Prophet ﷺ said: 'O Allah, conceal our news from them until we take them by surprise.' Then he went out until he camped at Marr. Abu Sufyan b. Harb, Hakim b. Hizam, and Budayl b. Warqa' went out that night until they overlooked Marr. Abu Sufyan looked at the fires and said: 'O Budayl, this is the fire of Banu Ka'b, your people!' He said: 'War has stirred them against you!' Muzaynah captured them that night, for they were the guards. They asked to be taken to al-'Abbas b. 'Abd al-Muttalib, so they were taken to him. Abu Sufyan asked him to seek protection for them from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He brought them until he entered upon the Prophet ﷺ, and asked him to grant protection to whomever he (al-'Abbas) protected. He said: 'I have protected whomever you protect, except Abu Sufyan!' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, do not restrict me!' He said: 'Whomever you protect, he is safe!' Then al-'Abbas brought them to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Then he took them out. Abu Sufyan said: 'We intend to leave.' He said: 'Go forth in the morning.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ got up to perform ablution, and the Muslims rushed to his ablution water, sprinkling it on their faces. Abu Sufyan said: 'O Abu al-Fadl, your nephew's dominion has become great!' He said: 'It is not dominion, but prophethood, and in that they desire.'
