حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْقَزْوِينِيُّ بِبَغْدَادَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْمِهْرِقَانِيُّ الرَّازِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ الْقَرَنِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سُوقَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:

أَخَّرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ هُنَيْهَةً، فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا، فَقَالَ: " مَا تَنْتَظِرُونَ ؟ " قَالُوا: الصَّلَاةَ. قَالَ: أَمَا إِنَّكُمْ لَنْ تَزَالُوا فِيهَا مَا انْتَظَرْتُمُوهَا. ثُمَّ رَفَعَ بَصَرَهُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ، فَقَالَ: " النُّجُومُ أَمَانٌ لِأَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ، فَإِذَا ذَهَبَتِ النُّجُومُ أَتَى أَهْلَ السَّمَاءِ مَا يُوعَدُونَ. وَأَنَا أَمَانٌ لِأَصْحَابِي، فَإِذَا ذَهَبْتُ أَتَى أَصْحَابِي مَا يُوعَدُونَ. وَأَصْحَابِي أَمَانٌ لِأُمَّتِي، فَإِذَا ذَهَبَ أَصْحَابِي أَتَى أُمَّتِي مَا يُوعَدُونَ. أَقِمْ يَا بِلَالُ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ delayed the later 'Isha' prayer one night for a little while, then came out to us and said: 'What are you waiting for?' They said: 'The prayer.' He said: 'Indeed, you will continue to be in prayer as long as you wait for it.' Then he raised his gaze to the sky and said: 'The stars are a safeguard for the inhabitants of the sky, and when the stars depart, what they are promised will come to the inhabitants of the sky. I am a safeguard for my Companions, and when I depart, what my Companions are promised will come to them. My Companions are a safeguard for my Ummah, and when my Companions depart, what my Ummah is promised will come to it. Begin the prayer, O Bilal.'

    يرويه عبد الله بن عمرو بن مرة عن محمد بن سوقة عن ابن المنكدر عن أبيه وخالفه القاسم بن غصن رواه عن محمد بن سوقة عن علي بن أبي طلحة عن ابن عباس وقيل عن ابن سوقة عن سعيد بن أبي بردة عن أبيه عن أبي موسى قاله محمد بن خلف عن حسين الجعفي عنه وإنما هو حسين الجعفي عن مجمع بن يحيى وكلها غير ثابت وحديث مجمع بن يحيى أخرجه مسلم في الصحيح

    machine translationʿAbdullāh b. ʿAmr b. Murrah narrates it from Muḥammad b. Sūqah, from Ibn al-Munkadir, from his father. Al-Qāsim b. Ghuṣn contradicted him: he narrated it from Muḥammad b. Sūqah, from ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭalḥah, from Ibn ʿAbbās. It was also said: from Ibn Sūqah, from Saʿīd b. Abī Burdah, from his father, from Abū Mūsā. This was stated by Muḥammad b. Khalaf from Ḥusayn al-Juʿfī, from him. But it is really Ḥusayn al-Juʿfī from Mujammiʿ b. Yaḥyā. All of these are not established (ghayr thābit). The hadith of Mujammiʿ b. Yaḥyā was recorded by Muslim in the Ṣaḥīḥ.
