حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّنَّامِ الرَّمْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ الْفَاخُورِيُّ الرَّمْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ أَرْطَاةَ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَبِي عَامِرٍ الْأَلْهَانِيِّ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

لَأُلْفِيَّنَ أَقْوَامًا مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَأْتُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِحَسَنَاتٍ أَمْثَالِ جِبَالِ تِهَامَةَ فَيَجْعَلُهَا اللهُ هَبَاءً مَنْثُورًا، فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، صِفْهُمْ لَنَا لِكَيْ لَا نَكُونَ مِنْهُمْ، وَنَحْنُ لَا نَعْلَمُ، فَقَالَ: أَمَا إِنَّهُمْ مِنْ إِخْوَانِكُمْ، وَلَكِنَّهُمْ أَقْوَامٌ إِذَا خَلَوْا بِمَحَارِمِ اللهِ انْتَهَكُوهَا

✧ I will certainly find some people from my community who will come on the Day of Resurrection with good deeds like the mountains of Tihāmah, and Allah will make them scattered dust. They said: O Messenger of Allah, describe them to us so that we do not become among them while we do not know. He said: Indeed, they are from your brothers, but they are people who, when they are alone with what Allah has forbidden, violate it.
