حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ الْعُمَانِيُّ، بِالْبَصْرَةِ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ الرَّبَعِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ:

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي بِأَصْحَابِهِ الْمَغْرِبَ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: مَا لَهُ مِنْ دَافِعٍ - وَقَدْ خَرَجَ صَوْتُهُ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ - إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِعٌ مَا لَهُ مِنْ دَافِعٍ، فَكَأَنَّمَا صُدِعَ قَلْبِي

✧ I came to the Messenger of God ﷺ while he was leading his companions in the sunset prayer. I heard him saying: "It has no repeller"—and his voice was coming out of the mosque—"Indeed, the punishment of your Lord is surely occurring; it has no repeller." It was as if my heart was split open.
