حَدَّثَنَا مَسْعَدَةُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ، ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ. عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ:

قَالَ أَبُو جَهْلِ بْنُ هِشَامٍ: إِنَّ مُحَمَّدًا يَزْعُمُ أَنَّكُمْ إِنْ لَمْ تُطِيعُوهُ كَانَ لَهُ فِيكُمْ ذَبْحٌ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: وَأَنَا أَقُولُ ذَلِكَ، وَأَنْتَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الذَّبْحِ فَلَمَّا نَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ مَقْتُولًا قَالَ: " اللَّهُمَّ قَدْ أَنْجَزْتَ لِي مَا وَعَدْتَنِي " فَوَجَّهَ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْأَسَدِ قِبَلَ أَبِي جَهْلٍ

✧ Abu Jahl b. Hisham said: “Muhammad claims that if you do not obey him, he will have a slaughter among you.” The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “And I say that, and you are among that slaughter.” When he saw him killed on the day of Badr, he said: “O God, You have fulfilled what You promised me.” Then he sent Abu Salamah b. 'Abd al-Asad toward Abu Jahl.
