✧ A man from the Jews came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: O Abu al-Qasim, has God, Mighty and Majestic, veiled Himself from His creation with anything other than the heavens and the earth? He said: Yes. Between Him and the angels around the Throne are seventy veils of fire, seventy veils of light, seventy veils of darkness, seventy veils of embroidered brocade, seventy veils of fine silk, seventy veils of white pearl, seventy veils of red pearl, seventy veils of yellow pearl, seventy veils of green pearl, seventy veils of radiance that shines from the fire and light, seventy veils of snow, seventy veils of water, seventy veils of clouds, seventy veils of hail, and seventy veils of God's majesty that cannot be described. He said: Then tell me about the angel of God who is next to Him. The Prophet ﷺ said: Have I spoken truthfully in what I told you, O Jew? He said: Yes. He said: The angel next to Him is Israfil, then Jibril, then Mika'il, then the Angel of Death—may God bless them all.
