أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ قَالَ: نَا عَتِيقُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ. عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ قَالَ:

لَمَّا حَضَرَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ الْوَفَاةُ، قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَوْصِنَا. قَالَ: أُوصِيكُمْ بِالسَّابِقِينَ الْأَوَّلِينَ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ، وَبِأَبْنَائِهِمْ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ، إِلَّا تَفْعَلُوهُ لَا يُقْبَلُ مِنْكُمْ صَرْفٌ وَلَا عَدْلٌ ".

✧ When death approached the Prophet ﷺ, they said: 'O Messenger of Allah, give us your final instructions.' He said: 'I instruct you to treat well the first forerunners among the Emigrants and their descendants after them. If you do not do so, neither obligatory nor voluntary acts will be accepted from you.'
