وَبِهِ: حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ: حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ: أَخْبَرَنِي صَفْوَانُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ يَعْنِي الْمَقْبُرِيَّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: " إِنَّ اللهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى قَالَ:

مَرِضْتُ فَلَمْ يَعُدْنِي عِبَادِي، وَظَمِئْتُ فَلَمْ يَسْقِنِي عِبَادِي قَالَ: أَنْتَ يَا رَبِّ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، يَمْرَضُ عَبْدِيَ الْمُؤْمِنُ، وَلَوْ عِيدَ عِيدَ لِي، وَيَعْطَشُ عَبْدِي فِي الصَّحْرَاءِ، فَلَوْ يُسْقَى سُقِيَ لِي

✧ "I fell ill and My servants did not visit Me; I was thirsty and My servants did not give Me drink." He said: "You, O Lord?" He said: "Yes. My believing servant falls ill, and if he were visited, it would be for Me. My servant becomes thirsty in the desert, and if he were given drink, it would be for Me."
